Take your time when getting dressed.
To protect your latex garments from damage, avoid sharp objects when handling or putting them on. Items like fingernails, toenails, and jewelry can easily cause tears.
Be cautious with light-colored and translucent latex, as these can stain permanently if they come into contact with copper-based items, such as coins or most types of jewelry. Even small traces of copper in accessories can leave marks. Jewelry may leave residue on your skin even after you have taken it off. So please consider showering before wearing light coloured latex.
Before putting on your latex, make sure the garment is well-prepped. You can either powder it with baby powder or cornstarch or apply a water-based silicone lubricant. For example beGloss Easy Glide. When pulling on the garment, once again, do so carefully, and avoid letting nails or jewelry touch the latex to prevent rips.
To achieve that signature latex shine, use a silicone-based lubricant or a specialized latex shiner. For example beGloss Perfect Shine. It's essential to avoid oil or petroleum-based products like baby oil, Vaseline, or massage oils, as they will degrade the material over time. Also, avoid applying body lotions or creams before dressing, as they can cause staining.
To polish, you can use your hands or a lint-free cloth.
How to clean your latex:
After wearing your latex, it’s important to clean it promptly. Leaving your latex uncleaned after use can damage it and cause stains.
Wash the garment in lukewarm water with mild soap or a latex-specific cleaner. Rinse it thoroughly with fresh water, both inside and out.
After washing, add a little Vivishine into the tub/basket with water. Now briefly bathe the latex in it and move it around a bit so that all areas are evenly wetted.
Shake the water off the latex and hang it on a non-metal hanger away from direct sunlight.
If you notice a white, milky residue on certain latex colors after soaking them, don’t worry—this is a normal characteristic of latex. The sheen will disappear once the garment has dried completely.
Storage tips:
Latex garments should be stored in a cool, shaded area at room temperature.
To minimize the risk of metal staining your latex, you can place tissue paper between any metal fastenings and the garment itself.
Keep in mind that light-colored and translucent latex should be stored separately from darker-colored items, as darker latex can transfer onto lighter pieces.
Also, avoid storing latex next to materials like PVC or leather, as long-term exposure can cause stains or other damage.
